Saturday DAY 16
Bear Boxing

Friday evening we stayed at Golden Bear Motel & RV, with complimentary laundry service and a sparring partnner!(see photo above)  We rode past some beautiful glaciers and mountains that were around every turn.  There were ice floes for miles that just sparkled with some incredible blues. It was a big day for glacier sitings and mountian valleys.  Words cannot describe their beauty.  The scenery and roads could have been a commercial for Harley touring bikes.

To get to Anchorage we had to ride 330 miles today, mostly through black spruce forests.  We used our leather chaps today, the weather was cool and very little rain for a change. YEA! We saw 2 moose crossing the road today but didn't have time to stop and get out the cameras  Up in this part of the country many people own and operate their own planes. It is a major mode of transportation for getting around, vast distances and few roads.  Each little town we went through had their own gravel road air strip.  We got into Anchorage at 4:30 pm.  Joe led us directly to the Historic Anchorage Hotel, even though he hadn't been there for 5 years.
